Volunteer!

Story. Stage. You.

Why volunteer with Ex Fabula?

  1. Ex Fabula is a volunteer-run organization, so we need you to keep it going.
  2. Our 5th season kicks off in Fall 2013, and there are cool plans under way.
  3. We’re a fairly small org so you can have a big difference (especially on the board – scroll to the bottom).
  4. There are many ways to help, so you can pick something that fits your schedule and interests.
  5. Our meetings are fun and productive.
  6. Volunteer experience is great on a resume.
  7. Free admission to Ex Fabula events!
  8. The audience appreciates us volunteers.
  9. Volunteers know all the Ex Fabula “behind the scenes” secrets.
  10. It feels good to be part of an org that is making great things happen in Milwaukee.

So, how do I get involved?

Event Team

Volunteers are needed at every event to make things run smoothly for our audience. Be part of the action for a month – or the whole season!

Door Crew

Arrival Time: 90 minutes prior to each event

Help audience members feel welcome from the moment they arrive! This team of 3 greets the audience, collects money, stamps hands and distributes ballots at events. At the end of each Story Slam, this team helps count audience ballots that determine the favorite storyteller of the night!

UltraShorts Crew

Arrival Time: 90 minutes prior to each event.

Interact with the audience and collect stories! This team distributes UltraShort slips, collects them and decides which ones are stage worthy. At the end of each Story Slam, this team collects the ballots from the audience. Perfect for new volunteers!

The street team distributes posters and flyers several times a year – prior to the season, for large shows, and for special events. Add your name to the list and help us out when you can!
